Walnut
Walnuts originally appeared somewhere in central Asia. It was also known in ancient Greece and Rome and was a nut dedicated to Zeus. It comes out on the market in August. In our store you will find fresh Greek nuts (with or without the shell) while we also import from abroad walnuts (shelled), mainly from the Balkans and America.
The best walnuts are those that do not have green kernel but white color because when they are black they are considered inferior quality. Also, the walnut is clean and has no shells.
Nutritional value: They are rich in sterols and have a large amount of antioxidants (such as selenium and zinc), magnesium, potassium, phosphorus, little iron and vitamin E. The most important is perhaps the content of vitamin C. Walnuts contain more antioxidants than other nuts, and help us prevent heart disease, cancer, and premature aging. It is also an excellent source for anti-inflammatory Omega-3 fat, and a good alternative to get them if we do not eat enough fish.
