Cashews
Cashews were discovered in the 16th century by the Portuguese in Brazil and from there they spread to the rest of the world. At our shop you can find them all year round. We usually import them raw and their color is white. When they get fried or baked and salted, their color becomes gold.
The best cashews are fried and whole (not broken).
It is rich in iron and zinc. Iron helps transfer oxygen to all cells, which can prevent anemia, while zinc plays an important role in the immune system and good vision. Cashews also protect our memory as it is a good source of magnesium.
Nutritional value: Rich in protein, they contain saturated fat (which increases cholesterol when we eat them in large quantities).
